Invisalign treatment involves clear plastic aligners that go unnoticed to everyone around you except you! They can be taken in and out out of the mouth and treatment does not use wires or brackets. The good news is that most patients are excellent candidates for invisalign treatment. Only a handful of patients have to use traditional metal braces. What is the Invisalign process like?
Your first Consultation:
Dr. Lukic will examine your teeth to make sure you are a good candidate for treatment and if you are, our team will gather information from you about what your goals are so that we can reach them during your treatment. Any questions that you have about treatment will also be answered. Impressions will then be taken and sent to a special lab as well as pictures to monitor progress and assist with treatment planning.
Presenting Your Treatment Plan
Through an online module, Dr. Lukic will then be able to discuss your treatment plan step-by-step. You will be able to see the progress made in tooth movement from start to finish. How long or short the duration of your invisalign treatment will also be discussed.
Your Custom made Invisalign(TM) Aligners
Your aligners will be custom made to fit the exact anatomy of your teeth. The aligners will be made out of a SmartTrac(TM) material, which are virtually invisible. No one will know you're wearing your aligners except you!
You will need to wear your Invisalign aligners for at least 22 hours per day. Before eating or drinking, the aligners will need to be removed and after you are done you will need to clean the aligners as well as brush and floss your teeth before placing them back in.
Your Progress
As you wear your aligners, your teeth will begin to shift and you can start to see results in just a couple of weeks. Depending on your plan, you will need to change into a new set of aligners every 1-2 weeks. Check-up appointments will usually be made every 6 weeks but will vary depending on your treatment plan.

At the end of treatment, you will need to be placed in retainers that you will wear at night. We offer clear invisible retainers called Vivera(TM) retainers that are custom made to your mouth. It is important to wear these so that unwanted tooth movement does not occur.
